The millenary city of Elche, with three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Historic Palm Grove, the Misteri d'Elx and the Pusol Museum, will host the XL National Congress of Statistics and Operations Research and the XIV Conference on Public Statistics from 7 to 10 November 2023.

Data Science is a multidisciplinary field that uses principles, methods and algorithms from mathematics, statistics, optimization and computer science to extract information and knowledge from data sets. The proper analysis of these data allows us to make optimal decisions with benefits for society. This congress is presented as a forum for scientific-technical exchange, open to society and business, in which academics, researchers and professionals in Statistics and Operations Research can exchange ideas and experiences in all areas of both disciplines.

The Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee invite all those interested in Statistics, Operations Research and Public Statistics to participate in the Congress, whether through academia, public administration or business. We encourage you to present your most innovative results, both from a methodological and applied point of view, in these fields. Every crisis is an opportunity and we should all be able to do our bit to show society how scientific advances in our field can help us to improve the common welfare.
