The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) is an international assessment of the progress in students' reading achievement at the fourth grade. The international report provides the reading achievement scores for 57 countries and 8 benchmarking entities. Also, some important information about the contexts for learning are recalled from Students, Homes, Teachers and Schools.
In the international report (Mullis et al. 2023), the average reading achievement for each country is provided and related to international benchmarks. The composition of the scores for each of the learning contexts is also provided. In this work, we present an interpretation of the Spanish results through the lens of Compositional Data Analysis (CoDA).
